Previewing Hofstra
Following the USF/Wilson Invitational Feb. 19, the Pride is 3-2 on the season with wins over East Tennessee State, Wichita State and Florida A&M. In 2006, Hofstra ended the season with its 15th-consecutive CAA Conference Championship (either regular season or tournament). The Pride also had the opportunity to host the NCAA Regional pulling out a win against Penn State before falling to seventh-seed Arizona State 2-0 in extra innings. This will be the third meeting of the two teams with UCF holding a 2-1 advantage.

UNLV Louisville Slugger Desert Classic Tournament Recap
After losses to No. 9 UCLA and host UNLV, Allison Kime gave UCF its first win of the tournament by blanking Colorado State, 1-0. The Golden Knights kept the charge coming as they used their momentum to take their second game of the day, 6-2, from the Seton Hall Pirates. Lexi Gresham and Ashleigh Cole combined for six strikouts, allowing two runs on two hits. Kacie Feaster set the pace for the offense going 2-for-3 with a home run and a double. The following day, Feaster hit her second home run of the tournament to help UCF beat Oklahoma State, 6-2.

Third Time's a Charm
Junior pitcher Allison Kime was named Conference USA Pitcher of the Week for Feb. 12-18 the league office announced Monday. The honor is the third bestowed to Kime in her two years with the Knights. Kime went 2-1 at the UNLV Louisville Slugger Desert Classic, picking up wins over Big 12 foe Oklahoma State and Colorado State from the Mountain West. In the win over the Cowgirls, she allowed only three hits with seven strikeouts while going all seven innings for UCF. She hit a solo home run and tossed a two-hit shutout in the circle to lead the Golden Knights to a 1-0 win over the Rams the day before. Kime is 4-2 on the season with a 1.17 ERA. She struck out 33 batters and allowed only 10 runs in 42 innings of work.

Heating Up the Desert
Freshman left fielder Morgan Bullard set the desert on fire going 6-for-11 (.545) with two runs and a RBI in Las Vegas this past weekend. She had three consecutive two-hit games vs. Colorado State, Seton Hall and Oklahoma State.

Inching Closer
With six steals on the season, Cici Alvarez keeps moving closer to becoming UCF's career leader. Jania Shinhoster currently holds the record of 74, but Alvarez needs just four more to claim sole possession of first place.

Swinging for the Fences
With her home run off of Oklahoma State starter Chelsey Barclay, Kacie Feaster moved into sixth place in the UCF career record book with nine home runs. She needs two more round-trippers to surpass Lindsey Manz for fifth place.

A Milestone Surpassed
With a victory over Colorado State on Feb. 17, head coach Renee Luers-Gillispie moved her career NCAA Division I win total to 400. She accummulated 86 wins at Bradley, 119 at Texas Tech and 197 at UCF in 13 seasons in the dugout. Luers-Gillispie has a total of 402 wins following last weekend's tournament and needs only three more wins to reach another milestone; 200 career wins at UCF.

First Time For Everything
With a three-run home run in the opener vs. Miami (Ohio) Feb. 9, pitcher Allison Kime became the first Golden Knight to ever hit a homer in her first at-bat of a new season. Kime's shot to left center gave UCF a 3-0 lead in the first inning, and helped her post a 6-3 victory in the circle.
