Kime Named C-USA Softball Pitcher of the Week

Orlando, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - UCF softball player Allison Kime (Brandon, Fla./Hillsborough C.C.) was named Conference USA Pitcher of the Week for Feb. 12-18 the league office announced Monday. The honor is the third bestowed to Kime in her two years with the Knights.

Kime went 2-1 at the UNLV Louisville Slugger Desert Classic, picking up wins over Big 12 foe Oklahoma State and Colorado State from the Mountain West. In the win over the Cowgirls, she allowed only two hits with seven strikeouts while going all seven innings for UCF. She hit a solo home run and tossed a two-hit shutout in the circle to lead the Golden Knights to a 1-0 win over the Rams the day before.

Kime is 4-2 on the season with a 1.17 ERA. She struck out 33 batters and allowed only 10 runs in 42 innings of work.

The Golden Knights return to action on Wednesday afternoon hosting Hofstra for their home opener at the UCF Softball Complex.
