Men's Tennis Hosts Utah on Sunday

Orlando, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - The UCF men's tennis team will play host to Utah on Sunday. First serve at the UCF Tennis Complex is slated for 10 a.m.

The Golden Knights, 2-1 at home this season, will face the Utes for the first time in program history. The Golden Knights (3-3) lost their last match against No. 11 Miami, 6-1, at home. The loss marked the first time this season UCF fell on its own court.

UCF was unable to win the doubles point, but sophomores Brock Sakey (Gulf Breeze, Fla./Gulf Breeze) and Norman Alcantara (Mexico City, Mexico) were able to post a victory at the No. 2 doubles spot. Sakey and Alcantara won 8-4 over Daniel Vallverdu and Vivek Subramanian.

In singles play, UCF earned a point from Sakey's 3-6, 6-3, (10-2) win over Hector Nieto at No. 4.

Utah stands at 5-0 this season. The Utes will play at Stetson on Saturday before traveling to UCF.

The Utes are ranked No. 70 by the ITA. The Golden Knights are ranked 71st.
