ORLANDO, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - Junior forward James Georgeff (New Castle, Australia) recorded a goal and an assist as the UCF men's soccer team fell to Major League Soccer's Real Salt Lake, 4-3, in an exhibition match on Tuesday morning.

"This match was a true test of our team's discipline," said UCF interim head coach Bryan Cunningham. "Everyone worked hard over the past week and a half and each player earned quality minutes on the field."

RSL forward Kyle Brown struck first in the 12th minute before sophomore midfielder Mike Mattson (Boca Raton, Fla./Pope John Paul II HS) collected the rebound off a free kick and evened the score 15 minutes later .

Georgeff's long high shot gave the Golden Knights their first lead in the 32nd minute. It held until forward Joey Worthen found the back of the net just minutes before the end of the half.

UCF regained the lead three minutes into the second period on a goal by sophomore Zach Boggs (Vienna, W.Va./The Pendleton School) with an assist to Georgeff.

Midfielder Chris Brown tied the game at three all in the 53rd minute then gave Real Salt Lake the advantage on a direct kick in the 66th minute.

"The players learned the importance of keeping their formation," said Cunningham. "Real Salt Lake was able to capitalize upon our mistakes when we didn't. We created our chances through the run of play against an MLS team."

Junior goalkeeper Brian Pope (Durham, N.H./Oyster River HS) made five saves, while Chase Harrison and Kyle Reynish made a combined two saves for Real Salt Lake.

UCF continues its spring schedule on Wednesday, Feb. 14 at 4 p.m. against Houston Dynamo at Disney Wide World of Sports before hosting Swedish team GAIS on Tuesday, Feb. 20.
