Orlando, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - As the UCF baseball team embarked on a season-opening eight-game home stand last weekend, the program announced Tuesday that it will add one more home game before its first road trip of the year (LSU Feb. 23-25). The Golden Knights will welcome the Hyundai Unicorns of the Korean Baseball Organization to Jay Bergman Field Feb. 20 in an exhibition game at 2 p.m.
Discounted tickets will be available at the Jay Bergman Field box office. They can also be purchased at the UCF Ticket Office by calling 407-823-1000. General admission seating for the contest is $5, while youths 17 and under and senior citizens can enter the gates for only $3. UCF students with a valid ID may attend the game for free. UCF season-ticket holders will receive a complimentary ticket to the game in the mail.
The Unicorns are currently training in Bradenton, Fla., until the end of February. They are also slated to take on Eckerd College, and possibly other NCAA programs later in the month. Meanwhile, the Korean National Team made waves at the 2006 World Baseball Classic, falling one game short of making the championship game. It played seven games of errorless baseball, and was led by such major league stars such as Byung-Hyun Kim and Hee-Seop Choi.
