ORLANDO, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - The UCF men's tennis team will travel to Philadelphia on Friday to meet the No. 50 Penn Quakers and then on Sunday head to New Jersey to take on Princeton. The match on Friday will begin at 5 p.m. On Sunday the clash against Princeton will start at 10 a.m.
UCF is 1-1 on the season. The Golden Knights had an easy win in their fist match of the season over Bethune Cookman, with a 7-0 victory. In their last match, the Golden Knights managed two victories over No. 15 Florida in a 5-2 loss in Gainesville last Wednesday.
Penn went 18-6 last season. The Quakers have 11 letterwinners returning including junior Jason Pinsky who went 15-5 last season and sophomore Jonathan Boym who went 16-5 overall. Penn is 1-0 in 2007 after a 7-0 win over Saint Joseph's.
Princeton will make its season debut against UCF. The Tigers had an overall regular season record of 7-13 last year and have a few returning players including top performer senior Sratha Saengsuwarn, to help lead the team in 2007.
After this weekend of Ivy League play, UCF will face Georgia Southern at home on Friday, Feb. 9 at 2 p.m.
