UCF Women's Tennis Begins Dual-Match Play at No. 2 Florida

Orlando, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - After an eventful weekend hosting the UCF Invitational, where three Golden Knights earned singles titles by going 3-0 for the tournament, the women's tennis team will travel to Gainesville, Fla. Saturday, Jan. 27, to face the No. 2 Florida Gators. Play will begin at 1:00 p.m.

The Golden Knights have gone 0-4 against the Gators in the past and will have to face the nationally ranked Diana Srebrovic at #11 for singles, as well as Nina Suvak and Whitney Benik who are nationally ranked #14 for doubles. The Gators finished up the season last year with an overall record of 25-2, 11-0 SEC, and made it to the NCAA semifinals where they fell to No. 1 Sanford.

UCF has been 16-12 overall in opening matches and started off with a strong season opener last year with a 7-0 victory over Georgia Southern. The Golden Knights ended their season last year with an overall record of 12-9. This weekend will start UCF's regular season play. Their next match will be held in Jacksonville, Fla. where the Golden Knights face the University of North Florida on Feb. 2.
