ORLANDO, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - The Orlando Police Department honored the UCF spirit program with its Good Citizenship Award during a ceremony on Wednesday afternoon.
The Golden Knights were recognized for their participation in the local National Night Out program. During the past seven years, Knightro and the cheerleaders have accompanied the police and other city officials to neighborhood block parties and celebrations in conjunction with the event, which takes place annually during the month of August.
National Night Out was organized by the National Association of Town Watch in 1984 to heighten awareness and strengthen participation in local anti-crime efforts.
