ORLANDO, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - The UCF women's basketball team searches for its first win in Conference USA when the Golden Knights play host to Memphis at UCF Arena on Sunday at 1 p.m.

UCF (5-12, 0-4 C-USA) dropped a 66-55 decision to visiting UAB on Friday night. Senior Keunta Miles (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./South Broward HS) put up 18 points, while senior Francine Houston (Bradenton, Fla./Southeast HS) added 13. Houston remains atop the team's stat sheet with 12.3 points per game followed by Miles with 12.2. Both are among the league's top 20 scoring leaders.

Miles is also the Golden Knights' leading rebounder with 6.2 boards per outing.

Despite a 22-point, 14-rebound performance from sophomore Ashley Thornton, Memphis (3-15, 0-4 C-USA) fell at Southern Miss, 76-55, on Friday night. The loss extended the Tigers' losing streak to seven games.

Leading the Tigers with an average 11.7 points per contest, senior guard Devin Necaise is dangerous at the foul line, where she has gone 37-for-38 and has the highest percentage in the conference at 97.4%. Meanwhile, sophomore center Ashley Thornton ranks fourth among league players with 8.2 rebounds per outing.

UCF and Memphis met for the first time during the 2005-06 season. The Golden Knights took a 65-54 win at Memphis on Jan. 27 before beating the Tigers, 77-62, in Orlando on Feb. 19.

UCF head coach Gail Striegler and Memphis head coach Blair Savage-Lansden share a connection to the Arkansas program. Striegler was a graduate assistant coach at Arkansas from 1990-92 during Savage-Lansden's sophomore season. That year the Lady Razorbacks finished with a 28-4 record en route to winning both the Southwest Conference regular season and tournament titles. The team advanced to the Sweet 16 in the NCAA Tournament.
