LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - Both partner stunt teams from the UCF cheerleading squad performed well and earned top 10 showings in the nationals competition at Disney-MGM Studios on Friday night.

The pair of senior Chris Stadler (Orlando, Fla.) and freshman Lauren Whitt (Orlando, Fla.) finished fifth, while senior Randy Brown (Tampa, Fla.) and freshman Kimmy Barker (St. Petersburg, Fla.) took sixth.

"Both pairs hit their routines," said head coach Linda Gooch. "To have two teams finish in the top 10 is a great accomplishment."

The Golden Knights continue their quest for the national championship when the semifinals of the team events take place Saturday. KnightMoves begins the day competing in the Hip Hop Division at Disney-MGM Studios at 12:15 p.m. before performing in the IA Dance Division at Disney's Wide World of Sports ® at 6 p.m.

Although the UCF cheerleaders earned a bye into the finals, they are slated to practice their routine on stage at 5:19 p.m.

Sunday's competition includes the Hip Hop Dance Finals at 12:30 p.m. followed by the IA Dance Finals at 3 p.m. and the IA Cheer Finals at 5 p.m. All take place at Wide World of Sports.
