Golden Knights Close Out Football Season With Their Last Game At The Florida Citrus Bowl

Nov. 24, 2006

Orlando, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - UCF will close out its 2006 campaign on Saturday against UAB at the Florida Citrus Bowl. It will be a special day for a number of reasons as 23 seniors will be recognized on `Senior Day' prior to the game, which will also be the last for the football team at the downtown venue. UCF is slated to open its 2007 home schedule at its on-campus Bright House Stadium.

The Golden Knights (3-8, 2-5 C-USA) have called the Citrus Bowl home for 27 years and will look to add one more win to their total of 110 at the stadium.

UCF fans have already come out in record amounts this season to cheer on their Golden Knights. Through six games, 197,227 fans have come through the turnstiles and the crowd for the UAB game will help the school exceed the 200,000-fan plateau for the first time in school history.

Kickoff is slated for Noon on Saturday as the Blazers (3-8, 2-5 C-USA) come to town looking to snap a five-game losing streak after opening league play with back-to-back league wins against East Carolina and Memphis. The game will also be broadcast live regionally on Comcast Sports Southeast (CSS).

CSS games can be seen on Comcast and Charter cable providers, and a few smaller markets throughout the Southeast. For a complete listing, please visit http://www.csssports.com/finder.cfm
