Orlando, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - The UCF women's tennis team continued its journey around the world Wednesday when Sweden native Jenny Frisell signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Golden Knights beginning in the 2007-08 season. Next year's roster could now feature players from six different countries (United States, Canada, Morocco, Spain, Venezuela and Sweden).
"In Jenny Frisell, we have a young student-athlete who is going to be able to have an impact role among the top four players in her first year," said UCF head coach Patricia Allison. "She has got an all-court game and is able to do damage on both sides of the ball, forehand and backhand. She volleys well, she serves well and she is an outstanding competitor. We are more than happy to have her."

Frisell ranks in the top 24 of the women's open category in Sweden, posting a 12-2 singles record. Both singles losses were against players in the top 150 in the WTA. She also ranks in the top four in the under-18 division, currently holding a singles record of 22-1. In doubles, Frisell has an 8-2 record in the women's open category and a 19-0 mark in the under-18 age group, which has earned her a No. 1 or No. 2 ranking the last five years. Frisell has claimed two Swedish national championships and was a runner-up four times. She also has won more than 20 regional tournaments.
