Charlottesville, Va. (www.ucfathletics.com) - In the final head race before the spring season gets underway, the UCF rowing team entered its top three boats into the women's varsity eight race Sunday at the Rivanna Romp hosted by the University of Virginia. The Golden Knights' "A" boat locked up 10th place to conclude the fall, posting a time of 13:58.14.
Women's small boats were not run because of a timing error in the varsity eight race, forcing schools to run it twice Sunday. The regatta was held at the Rivanna Reservoir on the Rivanna River and featured 29 boats in the varsity eight race.
Following closely behind the UCF "A" boat, the "B" squad placed 16th with a time of 14:12.50. Meanwhile, the "C" boat finished in the top 20, coming in 18th after recording a time of 14:21.75. Virginia's top boat grabbed first place thanks to a time of 13:12.43.
UCF's full spring schedule will be released at a later date. For the latest news and information on the Golden Knights, tickets or apparel log on to www.ucfathletics.com - the official site for UCF athletics.
