Postgame Quotes
UCF 26, Memphis 24
Memphis, Tenn. - Nov. 11, 2006

UCF Head Coach George O'Leary
"It's a good win. Anytime you win on the road, it is a good win. We made it exciting; I'll tell you that. It was a good solid game. Obviously, both teams made plays. We made maybe one more play than they did. It's a good win. It's a conference win. I'm happy for the kids.

"I think we made the big kicks and it was a big win as far as that was concerned. (Michael) Torres came up big with the field goals.

"He (Steven Moffett) did some good things. I started him tonight because I think he practiced better the past week and a half. I haven't changed. Whoever practices the best is going to play. I felt Steven did a better job during the week moving the football team into the game plan."

Memphis Head Coach Tommy West
"We did a good job of trying to come back, but we did not deserve to win the game. Until we learn how to play without making mistakes, and without doing the things that people do to lose, we are not going to win.

"I've done an awful job of getting our team to understand how you win and how you lose. It is very frustrating and disappointing, but we will not win until we learn how not to lose.

"Right now we did everything we can to lose the game and did not deserve to win. We cannot spot a team 14 points every week. We spotted Southern Miss 21 in the first quarter and spotted this team 14 in the first quarter. We cannot do that and expect to win. Offensively, we matched them with points in the first half, but we come out and don't do anything with it in the second half."
