IRVING, Texas (www.ucfathletics.com) - UCF junior goalkeeper Jennifer Manis (Pensacola, Fla./Washington HS) was selected to the Conference USA Women's Soccer All-Academic Team, league office announced on Wednesday. Junior defender Kelsey Kravec (Sarasota, Fla./Riverview HS) was one of 36 student-athletes to earn academic honorable mention recognition.
Selected by the conference's sports information contacts for women's soccer, the student-athletes on the 11-member team had to earn a 3.2 or better cumulative grade point average and be a starter or key reserve player.
Manis made 67 saves and posted a 1.03 overall goals-against-average (GAA) as she started all 18 matches in goal for the Golden Knights. She also posted shutouts against Florida Atlantic, Fresno State, Rice and UAB. She is currently ranked third among conference keepers with a 0.76 GAA in league contests.
Manis was a two-time C-USA Defensive Player of the Week and also earned a spot on the Soccer America National Team of the Week after allowing a goal in the weekend series at Rice and Houston.
A biology major, Manis is on the Dean's List and Athletics Director's Honor Roll. She also earned a spot on the Conference USA Commissioner's Honor Roll.
Kravec, a sports & fitness major, started all 18 contests in the backfield this season. She helped anchor a UCF defense that earned five shutouts and allow opponents a 1.02 GAA. She is also on the Dean's List, Athletics Director's Honor Roll and Commissioner's Honor Roll.
The No. 2 seeded Golden Knights (11-5-2, 7-1-1 C-USA) face No. 7 seed UAB (6-11-0, 4-5-0 C-USA) in the quarterfinals of the Conference USA Championship on Wednesday, Nov. 1 at 6:30 p.m. ET.
