METAIRIE, La. (www.ucfathletics.com) - After a solid performance at the 2006 Conference USA Championship, the UCF men's cross country team moved to ninth place in the in the NCAA Division I South Region poll released this week by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. It was the highest ranking that the program has ever achieved.
In their most recent outing, the Golden Knights took fourth of eight teams at the conference championship as all five scorers finished in the top 30. Junior Dustin Hicks (Oviedo HS) earned all-conference honors with a 14th place showing, while seniors Brent White (Boynton Beach, Fla./Santaluces HS) and Ryan White (Boynton Beach, Fla./Santaluces HS) were 16th and 17th, respectively.
Next up for the Golden Knights is the 2006 NCAA South Region in Knoxville, Tenn.
