ORLANDO - UCF senior Roberta Pelarigo (Sao Paulo, Brazil) added yet another award to her resume as she was named National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) National Player of the Week, the organization announced on Wednesday.
Pelarigo scored three goals in the Golden Knights' opening Conference USA weekend, leading her team to a pair of road wins. The senior scored the game-winning goal in a 1-0 shutout of Rice, snapping the Owls' nine-match undefeated streak, on Friday. She followed up that performance Sunday with two goals in a 5-1 victory at Houston. Pelarigo was also credited with the game-winning goal against the Cougars.
The award from the NSCAA comes on the after she received SoccerFla.com Player of the Week and C-USA Offensive Player of the Week recognition. She was also named to the Top Drawer Soccer Team of the Week and the SoccerBuzz.com Elite Team of the Week for her efforts.
Pelarigo currently leads all UCF players with five goals for 10 points.
Pelarigo and the Golden Knights (6-4-1, 2-0-0 C-USA) return to action when they host Memphis on Friday, Oct. 6 at 7 p.m. and UAB on Sunday, Oct. 8 at 1 p.m.
