ORLANDO - UCF senior Roberta Pelarigo (Sao Paulo, Brazil) was named the SoccerFla.com Player of the Week and earned a spot on the SoccerBuzz Elite Team of the Week, the two web-based publications announced on Wednesday.
Pelarigo scored three goals in two matches as the Golden Knights opened up their sophomore campaign in Conference USA last weekend. On Friday, she scored the game-winning goal during a 1-0 shutout of then-No. 9 Rice. She followed up that performance by tallying a pair of goals, including the game-winner, to lead UCF to a 5-1 over host Houston two days later.
In addition to being honored by SoccerFla.com and SoccerBuzz, she also earned the C-USA Offensive Player of the Week award and was named to the Top Drawer Soccer Team of the Week for her efforts.
Pelarigo currently leads all UCF players with five goals for 10 points.
Pelarigo and the Golden Knights (6-4-1, 2-0-0 C-USA) return to action when they host Memphis on Friday, Oct. 6 at 7 p.m. and UAB on Sunday, Oct. 8 at 1 p.m.
