Oct. 31, 2006

IRVING, Texas (www.ucfathletics.com) - Three UCF men's soccer players were selected to receive All-Conference USA honors, the league announced on Wednesday. Headlining the list on the all-conference second team was sophomore forward Zak Boggs (Vienna, W.Va./The Pendleton School), while midfielder Cam Jordan (Fort Wayne, Ind./Canterbury HS) and defender Akin Akinrinade (Merrillville, Ind./Merrillville HS) were named to the all-conference freshman team.

Boggs, who transferred from West Virginia prior to season, led all UCF players with five goals and an assist for 11 points. He scored the game-winning goals in the team's 1-0 shutouts over Furman and No. 17 Memphis.

Jordan started in 10 of the 15 matches he played and recorded a goal and two assists for four points. He assisted on Boggs' game-deciding tally against Furman before netting his first collegiate goal in the 1-0 win over in-state conference rival Florida International.

Starting all 14 of his matches, Akinrinade helped anchor a defense that posted five shutouts.

The Golden Knights (5-8-2, 3-3-2 C-USA) earned the No. 6 seed in the 2006 Conference USA Championship and will take on tournament host and No. 3 seed Tulsa (8-9-0, 5-3-0 C-USA) on Wednesday, Nov. 1 at 9 p.m. ET.
