UCF Faces Houston In A C-USA Road Game This Saturday

Oct. 27, 2006

Orlando, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - The UCF football team returns to the road this Saturday as the Golden Knights take on Houston in Conference USA action at 3:30 p.m. ET at Robertson Stadium. The game will be televised live nationally on CSTV and also be available nationwide as part of a special pay-per-view event on the internet.

The Golden Knights (2-5, 1-2 C-USA) enter the contest with a 1-1 record on the road, including a victory in their lone C-USA road game - a thrilling 23-22 victory over Marshall on Oct. 4. The Cougars (5-3, 3-1 C-USA) are 4-1 at home this season, which includes victories over C-USA foes Tulane and UTEP.

The match-up is just the second in the all-time series between the two schools, who met for the first time in 2005. The Golden Knights preserved a 31-29 victory over the visiting Cougars on Nov. 5 at the Florida Citrus Bowl. UCF built a 17-3 halftime lead behind the strong play of quarter Steven Moffett, who accounted for three touchdowns in the game, but had to withstand a late UH rally to clinch the win.

Moffett completed 21-of-30 passes for 275 yards and two touchdowns passes, while also rushing five times for 28 yards and a score. Moffett outdueled Houston quarterback Kevin Kolb, who was 19-of-30 for 313 yards and one touchdown pass.

Kolb has since become the all-time leader in total offense in league history, breaking the record last Saturday in a 34-17 victory over UTEP. The senior now has 12,150 yards of total offense in his career that has spanned 44-consecutive starts for the Cougars.
