Orlando, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - The UCF volleyball team will continue its season-long five-match road swing this weekend, facing Conference USA foes Marshall and East Carolina. The Golden Knights will meet Marshall in Huntington, W.Va. on Friday, Oct. 27 at 7 p.m. UCF concludes the weekend at East Carolina in Greenville, N.C. on Sunday, Oct. 29 at 1 p.m.
Last weekend, UCF (5-16, 1-9 C-USA) played at Memphis and UAB. Senior outside hitter Maina Heming (Sao Leopoldo, Brazil) led the squad with 10 kills versus the Blazers and sophomore middle blocker Stephanie Serna (San Antonio, Texas/O'Connor HS) added nine kills.
Marshall is 16-6 overall and 8-3 in league play. On Oct. 13, the Thundering Herd posted a 3-0 win over the Golden Knights in Orlando. Marshall leads the all-time series, 4-1.
East Carolina (16-9, 7-4) has won six straight. The Pirates topped UCF on the road, 3-0, on Oct. 15. Against the Golden Knights, East Carolina has a 3-1 series edge. On Friday, the Pirates host Southern Miss.
UCF's next home contest is slated for Nov. 3 versus UTEP at 7 p.m. at the UCF Arena.
