ORLANDO - Former UCF men's basketball player Anthony Williams will continue his career overseas as the power forward recently signed a contract with a professional team in Europe. Williams inked a deal with the Tromso Storm in Norway.

Williams appeared in all 29 games for the Golden Knights in 2005-06, averaging 9.3 points and 5.2 rebounds. He totaled 33 blocks on the year.

In two seasons at UCF, the Omaha, Neb. native recorded 86 blocks, good for sixth all-time at the school. He scored in double-figures 32 times as a Golden Knight and averaged 10.2 points and 5.4 rebounds for his career.

Williams is the fifth former Golden Knight in the last three years to sign a professional contract. Last fall, Gary Johnson and Marcus Avant joined teams overseas. Following the 2003-04 campaign, Dexter Lyons and Roberto Morentin both inked deals with European clubs.

After playing with a team in Ireland last season, Johnson recently signed with Bochum in Germany.
