ORLANDO - The UCF men's tennis team will make its fall season debut this weekend, competing at the 39th Annual Southern Intercollegiates in Athens, Ga. The event, which is hosted by the University of Georgia, is sanctioned by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association and begins on Friday.
Head coach Bobby Cashman will have six individuals competing at the event. Junior Sinan Sudas, sophomores Norman Alcantara, Tarek Ben Soltane, Jimmy Roesch and Brock Sakey and freshman Johan Beigart will all be in action.
UCF players will compete in all three singles and both doubles flights. Players from 35 universities will be in action at the tournament, which concludes on Monday.
In 2006, Cashman's squad finished with an 11-10 mark in its first campaign in Conference USA. UCF earned the fifth seed in the league championship.
