TAMPA, Fla. - Behind a season-best effort by junior Kristen Zieminski (Sarasota, Fla./Riverview HS), the UCF women's cross country "B" team finished third at the FLRunners.com Invitational in Ed Radice Park on Friday evening.
Zieminski finished 17th in a time of 20:34.07. She was followed by sophomore Annie Lolagne (Orlando, Fla./University HS) in 20th at 20:42.12, while freshman Erica Weitz (Morganville, N.J./Marlboro HS) came in 25th at 20:54.25.
Running at No. 4 for the Golden Knights was sophomore Kelly McNeill (Coral Springs, Fla./Taravella HS). She placed 29th overall with a time of 21:10.75. Redshirt freshman Amanda Monde (Jupiter HS) rounded out UCF's scoring five as she earned 34th place, finishing just ahead of freshman teammate Shannon Kelly (Tampa, Fla./Sickles HS) in 35th.
The Golden Knights collected 107 points to finish third in the 12-team field. Florida Atlantic won the event with 36 points and Nova Southeastern was second with 99 points.
UCF's full team returns to action at the Disney Classic on Saturday, Oct. 7.
