Men's Soccer Match at Marshall Postponed

Sept. 30, 2006

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Due to unsafe playing conditions created by a record amount of rain in the area, the Conference USA men's soccer match between UCF and Marshall scheduled for Saturday at Sam Hood Field was postponed. A make-up date has not yet been set.

"The safety of the student-athletes is always top priority," said UCF head coach Brent Erwin. "The game officials decided to postpone the match due to the field conditions and we were only happy to comply."

The Golden Knights (2-6-0, 0-1-0 C-USA) return to action in their C-USA home opener against Memphis on Wednesday, Oct. 4 at the UCF Soccer Complex. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m.

Admission to UCF men's soccer for the 2006 season is free courtesy of McDonald's. For the latest news and information on the Golden Knights, tickets or apparel log on to www.ucfathletics.com - the official site for UCF athletics.
