ORLANDO - The UCF football team faces Southern Miss Tuesday in a Conference USA match-up that pits the two teams picked by the league's head coaches to finish one-two in the East Division. The game is the first C-USA game for both teams and will kickoff at 7:30 p.m. ET at the Citrus Bowl and will be aired live on ESPN2.
The Golden Knights surprised many last year, winning the East Division title with a 7-1 overall record in league play. UCF was picked to finish last a year ago in the coaches poll, but went on to win the inaugural East Division crown and finish 8-5 overall after a winless season in 2004.
The lone setback for the Golden Knights in C-USA Play was in Hattiesburg, where the Golden Eagles secured a 52-31 victory. UCF won its other seven league games and hosted the C-USA Championship game at the Florida Citrus Bowl.
