Orlando, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - Comcast Sports South (CSS) announced Friday that the network will air UCF's regular season finale against UAB on Nov. 25 live to a regional audience. Kickoff is slated for Noon (EST) from the Florida Citrus Bowl.
The Golden Knights will now appear on television a school-record eight times in 2006, including a record six national broadcasts.
UCF had appeared on TV, both national and regional broadcasts, a combined seven times in each of the 2002 and 2003 seasons. Last year, the Golden Knights made a then-record five national appearances. The program also made eight appearances on TV in 1998, but two of the broadcasts were only picked up locally on road trips to Youngstown State (Youngstown, OH) and New Mexico (Albuquerque, NM).
The only other UCF game broadcasted by CSS came in 2001, also against UAB at the Florida Citrus Bowl.
Other UCF TV games in 2006 have come on CSTV, which has already broadcast UCF's home contest against USF on Sept. 16 and will televise the team's game at Houston on Oct. 28 and Memphis on Nov. 11.
ESPN2 will televise UCF's upcoming contest with Southern Miss this Tuesday, Sept. 26 as well as the following road game at Marshall on Wednesday, Oct. 4. ESPN will air the Pittsburgh game live from the Citrus Bowl on Friday, Oct. 13.
Sun Sports broadcast the Golden Knights game at the University of Florida earlier this season on Sept. 9.
