JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Behind 17 kills and 12 digs from senior outside hitter Maina Heming, the UCF volleyball team recorded a 3-1 (32-30, 30-23, 26-30, 33-31) victory over host North Florida on Tuesday evening at the UNF Arena. The Golden Knights, who were playing on the road for the first time this season, improved to 2-2 with the win.

UCF hit just .184 for the match, but the Ospreys (1-3) could only muster a .161 hitting percentage.

Heming posted her second double-double of the season on Tuesday. Junior outside hitter Schanell Neiderworder also had double-figures in the same categories, registering 14 kills and 16 digs.

In the win, senior setter Leah Alexander had 30 assists and freshman setter Andrea Youngblood chipped in with 15 assists. Freshman libero Tricia Scott tallied a career-best 25 digs.

Jenna Thomas paced North Florida with a match-high 50 assists. Emily Kohler and Maegan Weisert each had 16 kills in the losing effort.

UCF returns to action on Friday, hosting the four-team UCF Classic in Orlando. The Golden Knights open the event with a match against Samford at 1 p.m. and then face Furman at 7 p.m. Utah Valley State is also competing at the event.
