ORLANDO - The UCF Athletics Association, Inc. announced on Monday the promotion of Aimee Carpenter to Director of Compliance effective immediately.
In her new role, Carpenter will coordinate the day-to-day operations of maintaining the UCF Athletics Association's compliance with National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), conference and university regulations. The newly restructured compliance office will include two assistant directors and two graduate assistants.
"Aimee has shown an extensive knowledge and understanding of NCAA compliance issues," said Executive Associate Athletics Director David Chambers. "When we decided to restructure the compliance office, it was natural to elevate Aimee on the basis of her experiences and understanding of what it takes to run a quality program. She will be a very good leader for our program."
Carpenter joined the UCFAA staff as the assistant director of compliance during the spring of 2005. Prior to arriving in Orlando, Carpenter served as a graduate intern in North Carolina's compliance office, where she was responsible for monitoring recruiting documentation and was also a member of the Subcommittee on Academic Integrity for the NCAA Athletics Certification Process. She also worked a member of the UNC game operations staff and taught physical education classes to undergraduate students.
Carpenter's previous experience also includes positions in the sports information offices at SMU and Florida State. At both schools, she served as the primary contact for women's volleyball and men's and women's tennis.
Carpenter holds a bachelor's degree in sport management from FSU and a master's degree in sport administration from UNC.
