ORLANDO - The UCF football team returned to the practice fields on campus on Friday afternoon for a two-hour session. Friday's practice concluded with several team periods.
Early in the preseason, one Golden Knight who has looked impressive is wide reciever Mike Walker. The senior missed UCF's final two games of last year after season-ending knee surgery. Walker is not at full strength yet, but has still been the favorite target of senior quarterback Steven Moffett in practice.
"I am doing better out there than I thought I would," said Walker. "I don't even think about it (the knee). I just go out and play and it is getting better every day."
The Orlando native was an All-Conference USA Second Team selection in 2005 after recording 64 receptions for 855 yards with nine scores. He led the team in all three statistical categories before suffering the injury at Rice on Nov. 19.
On Saturday, the Golden Knights are slated to practice at 3:30 p.m.
