ORLANDO - UCF golfer Ashley Grier added to her list of academic accomplishments Monday when it was announced that she was named to the National Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar Team. Grier, who graduated in May with a degree in business, compiled a 3.94 grade point average during her collegiate career.
The criteria for earning the distinction of All-American Scholar according to the NCGA are a minimum 3.5 GPA and having competed in at least 50 percent of the team's scheduled competitions. Grier played in all 10 events for the Golden Knights and led the team with four top-10 finishes.
Earlier this summer, Grier was named the Conference USA Scholar Athlete of the Year for women's golf, an award based on academic achievement (GPA), athletic achievement and service.
Her other recent academic honors include a spot on the ESPN The Magazine women's Academic All-District at-large team and a Conference USA Commissioner's Academic Medal for having a cumulative GPA of 3.75 or better.
