ORLANDO - UCF football head coach George O'Leary will appear as a guest on the Central Florida News 13 Sports Report tonight with CFN-13 sports anchor Denise Cullen. Among the topics covered include a report on UCF's summer progress in the weight room, O'Leary's thoughts on the successful 2005 campaign and insight into the upcoming season.
The interview will air at 11:13 p.m. Friday evening and again at 1:13 a.m. Saturday morning.
The Golden Knights finished 8-5 overall in 2005 and 7-1 in Conference USA. O'Leary, the 2005 C-USA Coach of the Year, guided the Golden Knights to their first bowl appearance in the Sheraton Hawaii Bowl.
UCF returns 19 starters from last season's division championship squad and has been picked by five national college football preseason magazines as the favorite to win the East Division of C-USA.
The Golden Knights open the 2006 campaign at home on Saturday, Sept. 2 vs. Villanova. Ticket orders are now being accepted for the 2006 football season. Season ticket holders will be given priority when seats are sold in the new stadium. Fans can place their ticket order by calling 407-UCF-1000.
