Former Pole Vaulter Fischler Earns C-USA Postgraduate Scholarship

June 26, 2006

IRVING, Texas - Former UCF track and field standout Tracy Fischler was one of 12 recipients of a Conference USA Postgraduate Scholarship, the league office announced on Monday.

"Tracy is very deserving of the scholarship," said UCF head coach Marcia Mansur-Wentworth. "She worked hard on and off the field of competition during her career at UCF and I expect her to continue that success throughout her academic career."

A two-time letterwinner in the pole vault, Fischler was an Atlantic Sun All-Conference honoree in 2004 after placing third at the league championship. This past spring, she posted a career-best mark of 11-feet, 5.75 inches at April's Golden Knight Twilight. The effort is second all-time at UCF and ranked her as high as fourth in C-USA.

Fischler also excelled in the classroom, earning a spot on the ESPN the Magzine Academic All-District Second Team and the C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll in 2006. She was also twice named to the A-Sun All-Academic Team.

Fischler, who recently married former UCF baseball player Jason Graham, received her bachelor's degree in molecular and microbiology in May and is currently enrolled in Florida State's College of Medicine, where she is pursuing a medical degree.

Awarded annually, the scholarship is worth $4,000. Recipients are chosen by the conference's faculty athletics representatives.
