ORLANDO - Kickoff times for UCF's seven home football games in 2006 were announced Monday by director of athletics Keith R. Tribble. The seven-game home schedule begins Sept. 2 vs. Villanova at 6 p.m. at the Florida Citrus Bowl. The game will mark the first time since 1999 that UCF opens its season at home.

The Rice game on Oct. 21 and the Nov. 4 contest vs. East Carolina will kickoff at 4 p.m. The ECU contest is also Homecoming weekend in Orlando for the Golden Knights.

The regular season finale vs. UAB on Nov. 25 is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start time.

Three home games already had start times set for television. The Sept. 16 game vs. USF will kickoff at 2:30 p.m. on CSTV. The Sept. 26 contest vs. Southern Miss is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff on ESPN2 while the Oct. 13 game vs. Pittsburgh is set for 8 p.m. on ESPN.

The three September home games are a first for UCF in the school's Division I-A history. The Golden Knights moved to Division I-A in 1996.

Ticket orders are now being accepted for the 2006 football season. Season ticket holders will be given priority when seats are sold in UCF's new on-campus stadium, which is scheduled to open in 2007. Fans can place their ticket order by calling 407-UCF-1000.
