ORLANDO - Peter Ormsby, an assistant coach for the UCF cross country and women's track teams, earned his doctorate in educational psychology and leadership studies from Florida State on Saturday.
"We're happy that Peter has been able to achieve the highest level in academics," said head coach Marcia Mansur-Wentworth. "He is an excellent role model for our student-athletes with his commitment to academics."
Ormsby joined the Golden Knight staff in the fall of 2005. His responsibilities include acting as recruiting coordinator, assisting with the day-to-day coaching of the men's and women's cross country team and the distance runners on the women's track team, helping with the management of home meets and serving as the squad's performance consultant.
Ormsby also holds a bachelor's degree in sports medicine and psychology from Elon and a master's degree in human performance and sports studies from Tennessee.
