ORLANDO - The UCF softball team travels to Birmingham, Ala. to take on UAB in a three-game Conference USA series Saturday and Sunday at George Ward Park. First pitch is slated for 2 p.m. both days. The Golden Knights enter the series with a season record of 13-26 and 0-12 in C-USA, while the Blazers are 21-16 and 7-5.

The squads will play two games on Saturday and conclude the series with one contest on Sunday.

Scouting UCF...Cici Alvarez leads UCF with a .308 batting average, 36 hits, 23 runs, 19 walks and 11 sacrifice hits. Allison Kime is 9-11 in the circle for the Golden Knights with a 1.67 ERA. She has given up 62 runs on 115 hits with 140 strikeouts in 146.1 innings of work.

Last Time Out...UCF dropped three games to Southern Miss last weekend (7-2, 6-2, 2-1) in Hattiesburg. Breanne Javier was 4-for-6 with one run and two walks for the series.

Next Up for UCF...The Golden Knights travel to Tampa, Fla. April 12 to take on USF in a mid-week single game.

Scouting UAB...Holly Krzan leads the Blazers with a .333 batting average. Jennifer Nelson is 9-7 as a pitcher in 19 appearances with an ERA of 1.73.

Last Time Out...The Blazers split a mid-week series with Georgia State Thursday night. GSU took game one, 8-5, while UAB won the second, 1-0. Lindsay Stanley was 5-for-7 with one run and one RBI for the night. Kayla Harris threw a two-hit shutout in the nightcap to secure the win.

Series vs. UAB...The Golden Knights and the Blazers have never met on the softball diamond before.

The Golden Knights return home next weekend to host Memphis in a Friday/Saturday three-game series at the UCF Softball Complex.
