Track and Field Duo Qualifies for Regional in Final Day at Bulldog Limited

ATHENS, Ga. - Senior Diana Chin and junior Katie Fowke qualified for the NCAA East Regional in their respective events as the UCF women's track and field team competed in the final day of the Bulldog Limited on Saturday.

Chin took top honors in the long jump as she surpassed the NCAA Regional qualifying standard in two separate attempts, but her winning leap stood at 19-feet, 8.25 inches. She also placed fifth in the 100-meter hurdles at 14.17.

Fowke, meanwhile, led the Golden Knight pole vaulters, finishing second with an NCAA qualifying mark and UCF school record of 12-5.50. Junior Tracy Fischler and sophomore Kelsey Bealert tied for fourth at 10-8.

In the heptathlon, freshman Sheree Carter was fifth with 4,241 points. She took third in the long jump and fifth in both the javelin and 800m.

The Golden Knights finish the regular season at home with the Golden Knight Twilight on April 29, beginning at 2:30 p.m.
