Women's Track and Field Opens Bulldog Limited with Strong Performances

ATHENS, Ga. - Freshman Sheree Carter represented the UCF women's track and field team well in her first heptathlon as the Golden Knights opened competition at the Bulldog Invitational on Friday.

Carter took fourth in the high jump, shot put and 200-meter dash and placed sixth in the 100m hurdles as she collected 2,653 points. Minnesota's Liz Roehrig led the field with 3,431 points through four events with the long jump, javelin and 800m run remaining on Saturday.

In the 3,000m, junior Karen Kozub finished third in a time of 11:06.28 followed by sophomore Allison Palmer in fourth at 11:14.39.

Also on the track junior Kaprice Williams earned sixth in the 200m at 25.65, while classmate LaToya Green was seventh at 25.97.

The men's cross country team also performed well as juniors Brent White and Ryan White placed first and second, respectively in the 3,000m.

The Golden Knights continue competition at the Bulldog Invitational on Saturday.
