Staff Changes Announced for UCF Women's Basketball

April 12, 2006

ORLANDO - UCF head women's basketball coach Gail Striegler announced changes in her staff on Wednesday with recruiting coordinator Juliet McGee-Schweiter moving into the newly created director of basketball operations position and Becky Geyer being promoted to recruiting coordinator. McGee-Schweiter's appointment is effective May 19, while Geyer's takes effect on June 2.

Because of the moves, the Golden Knights will be looking to fill an assistant coach position.

"The changes are really a good fit for everybody," said Striegler. "It gives Becky the opportunity to gain some valuable experience in the recruiting arena and allows Juliet the opportunity to continue helping the program, while concentrating on other personal and professional goals."

As the director of basketball operations, Schweiter absorbs some administrative duties traditionally left to the assistant coaches, including coordinating schedules and travel as well as the tape exchange and alumni outreach.

"Creating this new position is a step in the right direction as we move toward making UCF a Top 25 program," Striegler added. "It enables the coaching staff to focus on the athletes and the team."

McGee-Schweiter joined Striegler's staff as recruiting coordinator on June 13, 2005, while Geyer came aboard as an assistant coach a week later.
