GAINESVILLE- Top ten efforts and season bests by several athletes headlined the list of stellar performances by the UCF track and field team at the UF Diet Pepsi Classic on Saturday.
Pacing the Golden Knights on the track was sophomore Victoria Chin, who took fifth place in the 400-meter hurdles in a time of 60.90. The effort ranks second all-time in UCF's record books and bettered her previous personal best of 60.91.
In the field events, junior Katie Fowke placed fourth in the pole vault with a season best mark of 11-feet, 9.75 inches (3.60m), while senior Diana Chin was seventh in the long jump at 19-2 (5.84m).
Diana Chin also helped lead the 4x100m relay team that included juniors Jenny Rogan and LaToya Green and senior Lynnsey Hicks to a ninth-place showing in a season best time of 47.15.
Elsewhere, student assistant coach and former UCF standout Ann-Louise Larsen took first place in the high jump as an unattached athlete with a leap of 5-10 (1.78m). Larsen is chasing a bid for the 2006 National Championships.
The Golden Knights return to action at the Texas Relays from April 6-8 in Austin, Texas.
