Jenny Frank Joins UCF Volleyball Coaching Staff

April 6, 2006

ORLANDO - UCF volleyball head coach Meg Colado announced on Thursday that former Golden Knight standout Jenny Frank has joined her staff as an assistant coach. Frank, who starred at UCF from 2000-03, returns to her alma mater after spending the 2005 campaign as an assistant coach at Tulane.

She replaces Sam Ojie on the Golden Knight bench. Ojie recently accepted an assistant coaching position at Georgia. Frank was coached by Colado at UCF.

One of the greatest players in school history, Frank led the Golden Knights to three NCAA Championship appearances. As a senior in 2003, the setter was named the Atlantic Sun Player of the Year and became the first player at UCF to earn All-America recognition as she claimed honorable mention honors from the AVCA.

"Jenny was an outstanding player who continues to work just as hard in the office," said Colado. "She is committed to the program's success and the development of our players. I am thrilled to have Jenny back with us and I look forward to working with her."

During the 2005 season with Conference USA member Tulane, Frank served as the setting coach. Under Frank's tutelage, setter Luna Rebrovic earned all-conference freshman honors. In addition to working with the Green Wave setters, Frank coordinated team travel, monitored academic progress and assisted in recruiting.

Frank is no stranger to the UCF bench as she spent the 2004 season as a volunteer assistant coach with the Golden Knights. She also has experience as an assistant coach with USA Volleyball's High Performance Team for the Rocky Mountain Region, where she worked with the setters and served as a training coach during the summer of 2005.

A four-year starter at UCF, Frank garnered A-Sun All-Conference honors on three occasions, earning first-team recognition in 2002 and 2003. She is second in program history in career assists (4,825) and fifth in service aces (149) and digs (1,111).

As a player at UCF, Frank helped her squad to a combined 84-39 record. In 2003, she captained the Golden Knight team that recorded an NCAA Championship first-round victory over C-USA champion Cincinnati.

In 2005, Frank was a member of the "Bring It USA" team that toured Slovenia, Austria, Germany and the Czech Republic.

Off of the court, she garnered all-conference academic honors three times. Frank was a four-year member of the Dean's List and graduated with a bachelor's degree in interpersonal communication from UCF in 2004.
