Men's Golf in Seventh After First Round at Seminole Intercollegiate

Giwon Suh fired a season-low 3-under-par 69 Sunday to pace UCF as the Golden Knights carded a 4-over-par 292 in the first round of the Seminole Intercollegiate at Golden Eagle Country Club. Suh is tied for second in the individual standings, while UCF is tied for seventh with Ole Miss in the team standings heading into Monday's second round. Host Florida State is in 10th at 7-over-par.

East Tennessee State leads the 13-team field after posting a 6-under-par 282 Sunday, one shot better than North Carolina. Coastal Carolina is in third at 2-under-par. Coastal Carolina's Dustin Johnson recorded the lowest round of the day with a 6-under-par 66. Suh is tied with North Carolina's Martin Ureta and Northwestern's Kyle Moore three shots back. Five players are tied at 2-unver-par 70, including three from East Tennessee State.

UCF's Kyle Davis is tied for 24th after shooting a 1-over-par 73. Sonny Nimkhum, who UCF's hottest golfer coming into the event, carded a 2-over-par 74 and is tied for 30th. Greg Forest is tied for 46th after posting a 4-over-par 76, while Steven Bain, playing in his first event of the year, had his struggles and posted a 12-over-par 84, which was good enough for a tie for 66th.
