ORLANDO - The UCF men's tennis team posted a 4-3 victory over visiting North Florida on Thursday afternoon at the UCF Tennis Complex. The Golden Knights improve to 10-8 with the victory.
Sophomore Sinan Sudas clinched the win for UCF, defeating the Ospreys' (11-7) Matias Sigal at No. 2 (6-2, 2-6, 6-4). The Golden Knights opened the contest by taking the doubles point after winning all three matches.
"We were excellent in doubles today and that was the key," said UCF head coach Bobby Cashman. "UNF is a very good team and our guys did a good job against them."
At the No. 5 singles position, UCF freshman Tarek Ben Soltane eased past German Escallon, 6-3, 6-1. Fellow freshman Brock Sakey was also a two-set winner at No. 6, topping Leonardo Gomes, 6-1, 7-6 (5).
