ORLANDO - UCF assistant athletics director of facilities and operations Joe Simon announced Thursday the hiring of Matt Davis as UCF's facilities operations manager. His appointment is effective immediately.
"We are very excited to bring Matt on board," Simon said. "Matt's experience serving as the director of athletics facilities/operations at Marshall University has prepared him well for this position at UCF. Matt will be a valuable member of our facilities and operations staff and will play a key role as we continue to expand our athletics facilities."
Davis brings with him five years of experience in collegiate athletics facilities at Marshall University. He spent the last three years as the director of athletics facilities and operations where he was responsible for overseeing all of Marshall's athletics facilities.
Prior to being named director of athletics facilities and operations, Davis was a graduate assistant in the facilities department. During that time, he assisted with the set up of all events and served as the game manager for men's and women's soccer, softball and baseball games. Davis also served as tournament director for the annual softball tournament.
Davis earned a bachelor's degree in sports management and marketing in 2000 and a master's degree in athletic administration in 2002, both from Marshall.
