March 13, 2006

TAMPA - Playing for the second time in as many days, the UCF men's tennis team dropped a 6-1 match to host USF on Monday afternoon at the Varsity Tennis Courts. The Golden Knights fall to 7-5 with the loss.

The Bulls (2-5) won five of six singles matches. UCF's lone singles win came at No. 4, where freshman Brock Sakey posted a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Juan Barragan.

"We did not have a good effort today," said UCF head coach Bobby Cashman. "Guys really have to step up and tough it out during this stretch of the season."

USF won two doubles tilts to claim the first point of the match. UCF did record a victory at No. 3 doubles where Sakey and freshman Jimmy Roesch defeated Barragan and Mark Gattiker, 8-5.
