ORLANDO - Sophomore second baseman Danny Kash was a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and two runs scored to lead host UCF to an 11-0 shutout victory over Wagner Monday evening at Jay Bergman Field. UCF (10-9) closed out the three-game series sweep and moved above the .500 mark for the first time this season.

UCF has won a season-high four straight games.

"We had a lot of opportunities tonight and we took advantage of them," stated UCF head coach Jay Bergman. "For the series, we pitched extremely well and it was good to see Kyle (Sweat) earn his first career victory tonight."

Kash, making his first career start, made several terrific defensive plays at second base and laid down two perfect bunt singles for his first career multi-hit game. The two runs scored and two RBI were also career-highs for the Texan.

Sweat pitched well to tally his first win as a Golden Knight. The Apopka product pitched six innings and fanned three to even his season record at 1-1. As a pitching staff, UCF allowed only two runs for the series and shutout the Seahawks (0-6) twice. For the season, UCF has three shutouts in 19 games.

UCF busted the game open in the fifth on a three-run double by junior shortstop Matt Horwath down the line in left to give the Golden Knights a 5-0 lead.

The Golden Knights added a single run in the seventh before a five-run eighth closed out the scoring at 11-0.

UCF out-hit the Seahawks 13-7, including multi-hit games from sophomore center fielder Tyson Auer (2-for-4, R, RBI), freshman right fielder Dave DiNatale (2-for-5, 2 R, 2 RBI), Matt Horwath (2-for-3, 3 RBI), and Kash's two singles.

The Golden Knights totaled six extra base hits on the night, including three doubles and three triples.

UCF looks to extend its winning streak to five games Tuesday with a non-conference showdown vs. No. 15 Florida. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m. from Jay Bergman Field. Standing room only tickets remain for Tuesday's game vs. the Gators. To purchase tickets, call 407-823-1000.
