ORLANDO - After a nearly two-week hiatus, the UCF women's tennis team (5-4) returns to competition when the Golden Knights travel to Virginia. They take on Richmond on Sunday at 1 p.m. followed by Old Dominion on Monday at 2 p.m.
Junior and Poquoson, Va. native Megan Hunter returns to her home state with the best singles record on the team at 16-4 overall and is a perfect 4-0 at the No. 5 position. She and doubles partner sophomore Kyla McNicol have won their previous two matches at the No. 2 spot.
UCF has not played in competition since its 5-2 win over Eastern Michigan on Feb. 28. The team's March 6 match against Savannah State was postponed and has not yet been rescheduled.
The Golden Knights open the trip in Hampton Roads where they face the Monarchs, who play against four teams in Florida before returning home to host UCF. Prior to their first match in the Sunshine State, ODU had a record of 7-2. Old Dominion has a 2-0 lead over the Black & Gold in the all-time series.
On March 13, UCF meets Richmond on the hardcourts. The Spiders posted a 4-4 record before their match with Charleston Southern on March 8 and also take on North Carolina on March 11.
Richmond is 3-1 all-time against the Golden Knights.
