DALLAS, Texas - No. 11 seeded UCF (7-20, 6-11) takes on No. 6 Tulane (14-11, 8-8) in the first round of the 2006 Conference USA Women's Basketball Championship, which begins on Thursday at Moody Coliseum on the SMU Campus. The two teams tipoff at 9:30 p.m. ET.
In the most recent meeting between the two schools on Jan. 13 at UCF Arena, the Golden Knights (7-20, 6-11 C-USA) handed the Green Wave (14-11, 8-8 C-USA) a 60-52 loss behind 18 points by sophomore Amber Long (Irmo, S.C./Dutch Fork HS).
Tulane and UCF are even in series history at 2-2.
Should UCF defeat Tulane on Thursday, the Golden Knights face off against host and No. 3 seed SMU on Friday at 9:30 p.m. The tournament continues with the semifinals on Saturday and concludes with the championship game on Sunday at 4 p.m.
