MIAMI - No. 13 Miami swept UCF, 7-0, in women's tennis action on Saturday afternoon.
The Hurricanes (4-3) grabbed identical 8-3 wins in all three doubles matches to take the opening point before earning similar 6-2, 6-2 victories at the No. 1 and No. 2 singles positions.
At the No. 4 spot, UCF junior Megan Hunter dropped her first match in five appearances as Patricia Starzyk beat her, 6-1, 6-2.
The Golden Knights (3-4) best opportunity to avoid the sweep came at No. 6. After losing the first set 6-0, sophomore Kyla McNicol came back to take a 6-2 win in the second set before junior Ana Rupic earned the tiebreaker at 10-6.
Next up, UCF visits Jacksonville on Wednesday for a 2 p.m. match.
