ORLANDO - The UCF softball team travels to DeLand, Fla. to participate in the Stetson Tournament against Stetson and Ohio State Feb. 18-19. The Golden Knights enter the weekend 3-3 on the season, while the Hatters are 3-0 and the Buckeyes are 4-1.

Scouting UCF...Junior Amber Lamb paces the Golden Knights with a .471 batting average, eight hits, two runs, one double, one home run and three RBI, while Sophomore Allison Kime leads the pitching staff with a 2.00 ERA in 21.0 innings. Kime has given up six runs on 14 hits and 14 strikeouts with opponents only hitting .184 against her. In the field, freshman Breanne Javier has 59 putouts with two assists and one error for a fielding percentage of .984.

Last Time Out...The Golden Knights split a doubleheader series with Bethune-Cookman Wednesday afternoon at Merrill Park in Altamonte Springs, Fla. The Wildcats took game one, 6-2, but the Golden Knights won the second game, 3-0, as Allison Kime pitched her first career no-hitter. Amber Lamb hit her first home run of the season in the opening game of the series along with picking up the other RBI for the Golden Knights.

Scouting Ohio State...Billie Carder and Stacy Hibma lead the Buckeyes with identical .421 batting averages. Carder has eight hits with one run, one triple and three RBI, while Hibma has eight hits with three runs, one home run and seven RBI. Jamee Juarez paces the pitching staff with a 3.94 ERA in four appearances. Juarez has pitched 21.1 innings and given up 17 runs on 27 hits, five walks and 15 strikeouts.

Last Time Out...The Buckeyes participated in the Hilton Las Cruces Invitational in Las Cruces, N.M. last weekend, where the team took on New Mexico State, Portland State, Colorado State, Utah and Texas-San Antonio. Ohio State ended the weekend 3-1 with its only loss coming in the final game against Texas-San Antonio. Brittany Vanderink paced the Buckeyes, going 2-for-3 with two runs, while Jamee Juarez was tagged with the loss after going 7.1 innings and giving up nine runs on 15 hits.

Series vs. Ohio State...This will be the second time that the Golden Knights and the Buckeyes have met on the softball diamond, with Ohio State leading the series, 1-0. The two teams last met in 2002, where Ohio State won 9-6.

Scouting Stetson...Pacing the Hatters is Andrea Migliori, who has a .571 batting average with four hits, two runs, both of which were doubles, and four RBI. In the circle for Stetson, Erica Demers has a 0.00 ERA with a 2-0 record after pitching 10.0 innings and giving up no runs on three hits and 10 strikeouts.

Last Time Out...The Hatters hosted their first tournament of the season last weekend where the team defeated Charleston Southern (8-0), Northern Iowa (7-5) and No. 14 DePaul (4-1).

Series vs. Stetson...UCF leads the all-time series against former Atlantic Sun rival Stetson, 7-3. The two teams last met on May 6, 2005 in a doubleheader series at Stetson. UCF took game one, 5-1, while Stetson won the nightcap, 6-5. Cici Alvarez and Lindsay Enders paced the Golden Knights with a .500 batting average for the series, while Enders picked up the win in the circle for game one.

No-Hitter...It did not take long for Allison Kime to pick up her first career no-hitter as a Golden Knight. Kime pitched the jem on Feb. 12 against Bethune-Cookman when she struck out four and walked none. She missed the perfect game by two errors made in the field.

Opening Day Hero...Sophomore second baseman Ashley Van Ryn ripped her first career grand slam as UCF defeated Texas Tech, 4-2, Feb. 10. Amber Lamb, Shelly Frick and Lindsay Dean all drew walks to load the bases for Van Ryn. With two outs, Van Ryn sent the ball screaming over the left field fence.

Freshman Power...In freshman Breanne Javier's first career at-bat, the first baseman knocked a two-run double down the right field line against Southern Illinois scoring Cici Alvarez and Kacie Feaster on Feb. 10.
